I feel like such a lucky mom. You three are so wonderful and perfect. I love you more than I will ever be able to describe. Today was so ordinary yet so perfect.
Chaim ran a little marathon at school (I wish I could have seen it, so far it is looking like you have inherited my awkward run...sorry big guy)..You did awesome!! you are growing up so fast and I am so proud of you and all of your accomplishments. Oscar and I played in the morning...you really laid the guilt on me thick this morning Oscar "I have no friends, can you come downstairs and play"...The laundry had to wait. I love watching and listening to you play...it is impossible not to smile. Walden you were happy and easy going and even put yourself down for a nap while you played with your new elephant toy. You are such a perfect baby boy!!!!
In the afternoon we walked the cow, Oscar wore Chaim's gum boots in the muddy/lakey backyard and fell in and got soaked (twice). Chaim fine tuned his tree-climbing skills. It was windy and warm and we stayed outside for most the day finding whatever adventures we could. When it was time to come in Chaim and Oscar played so great together...that does my heart good to see your friendship growing...Oscar today said to Chaim "pss I have a secret...[Chaim went over to Oscar so Oscar could whisper his secret]..I love you". Then at supper Chaim told Daddy the good news..."Oscar loves me!". Walden was happy and handsome and perfect. You smile and smile and smile. You are so charming Walden.
Now you are all asleep..I go in and check on you now and then and feel overwhelmed with gratitude for such an ordinary perfect day. I am a lucky mom!!

Dreamy
Walden,
You totally love me! It is pretty obvious that right now I am your favorite thing in the world. I know it won't last forever...I will be replaced for puppies or ninja turtles, basketball, your dad or whatever it may be, but right now I am loving how much you love me...you make me so happy! I love you too
Love mom,
P.s. You played a bit of peekaboo today and laughed and laughed.....you are such an irresistible little baby. Please don't grow up too fast.

My little gentleman
Chaim,
You are so good! You try so hard to obey and be good....thank you thank you...thank you for being so patient with Oscar...you sure put up with a lot! And I love how much you adore Walden. We are all so lucky to have your example in our home. You are such a gentle little man.

Funny guy
Oscar you are a natural comedian. You make us laugh so much! Last night you kept trying to sneak out of bed and stay up later...you really turn up the charm and try to make us laugh. I was in my room feeding Walden when all of a sudden I see movement by the door... A blue socked hand is slowly creeping around the doorway...and then it suddenly pops out and says...hi I'm mr. Sock. I laughed so hard and then sent you and that sneaky mr. Sock to bed.
Today we made paper plate puppets with magnetic tongues to catch paperclip flies with... You immediately pulled of your frogs eyes and then in your best froggy voice, while waving your frog around aimlessly said..."I can't see, I can't see.". Your a pretty funny guy!
Thanks for making me laugh.

Walden.
Yesterday in church was the first time that you really fussed...like really fussed. You seemed to be in pain and no matter what I did you wouldn't settle. Each minute ticked by so slowly as I tried to calm you. It broke my heart to see you cry like that. I tried to feed you, we walked outside, I took off your church clothes...You cried yourself to sleep as I rocked you back and forth and I wanted to cry to...I wanted to make it all better for you. When you woke up at church it happened all over again. By the time we got home you were back to yourself again. What a fright you gave me and what a relief to see you feeling better. I love you soo much.

Oscar..you make me laugh
In our ward you are the only one in Nursery. I sort of feel sorry for you right now, but I actually think you really enjoy the one on one time. I especially like it when I am able to be your substitute teacher in nursery. Yesterday I had that opportunity again and it is always so fun to have that uninterrupted play time with you. We played sleepy bunnies, you cooked me some food in the kitchen and we read books. I smiled the whole way through. You are so cheerful and fun, and everything you do is so adorably uniquely you.
One thing that I loved yesterday was you trying to teach me how to say Monkey when we were reading books. Chaim right now is learning the sounds or phonetics of words in school and so sometimes he will try to teach you as you are playing "Oscar, say ca-ca-car" so you can properly enunciate your words.
Yesterday when we were reading books you tried to teach me a few things..."mom, say da-da-da--Monkey"...I laughed so much. You are soo adorable. Thank you for brightening up my days. I love you.

Chaim--what a big boy!
Yesterday in church you gave your first memorized talk. You are 4 years old and you have the best memory...it amazes me. For FHE scripture we are memorizing the primary scripture of the month each week. In March you memorized D&C 1:38, and April you memorized the third Article of Faith. Yesterday you gave a great talk.
"Sometimes we do things that we should not do. When we sin we become unclean. We can repent and be forgiven of our sins. 'We believe that through the atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel'. I am thankful that Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins." You did so good.
Chaim you are such a bright boy and I often feel inadequate in my role as your mom. I hope I can be what you need me to be. It is such a gift and blessing to be your mom. I feel that the Lord has placed enormous trust in me to be given this sacred role as your mother. I feel an enormous responsibility to teach you the things that you need to know and I pray that as your grow your testimony will also. You are such a good example to your younger brothers and to your parents. Thank you.

I'll get you next time Gadget!!! (uhh I mean spiderman)
Ohh Oscar, you are such a little imp. You always make me laugh so much. I loved watching you play in the gym yesterday when I took chaim to preschool. You would climb up onto the stage shoot webs onto the big foam mat below and then jump superhero style into your imaginary freshly spun webs. You make me laugh soo much...you have such a strong will and personality--and such a penchant for trouble. Sometimes I wonder how we survived the day...You are definitely teaching me a thing or two about patience...I still have a long ways to go but I appreciate all your lessons. You make me smile. Like a couple of nights ago when I was wiping off the kitchen counters after bedtime snack. I found an empty bowl on the counter and then remembered that it used to have several of Walden's soothers in it that still needed to be sterilized. I laughed to myself as I thought about how I would be finding little soothers in the strangest places for the next few days. You probably thought you were being such an imp as you hid them around, it is almost as though you love to get my goat...I laughed as I thought the joke was on you because Walden doesn't even use a soother anymore--you'll have to try harder than that. It is like we are constantly trying to do a little dance you and I...like superhero vs.villan. I guess you would be the superhero and I would be the villan, but it is like you are always setting traps for me...like how you like to take off the handles of the coffee table/sidetable (regardless of how many times I have told you not to) and then put them in the drawer and close the drawer. Or how I could not find my car keys anywhere yesterday morning only to realize you had snuck out with them the night before and tried to break into the van. I definitely have to be on my toes with you. I love it! and it drives me crazy to. I hope you don't change.
Because I love you that way
Chaim you are such a wonderful big brother. You are loving having a baby brother to take care of. I love watching you give Walden little kisses, and light up everytime Walden does something (yawn, coo, smile)...it makes your day, which makes my day too. Yesterday I was busy helping Oscar and his friend that was over for a playdate get out of their wet clothes after being outside. Walden was fussing in the other room and I asked if you could go talk to him. You went right away and Walden stopped crying as soon as he had his big brother to chat with. Thank you for being such a big helper.
Sometimes I just can't get over how big and adorable you are...You are growing up way to fast... You love school and I smile as I watch you out on the playground, oblivious to everyone around you--caught up in your own little world. You have an amazing memory and in March you memorized your first scripture (D&C 1:38), and you are now working on the Third Article of Faith. You are learning soo much and I sometimes feel that I can't keep up with you. I often ask you "Chaim, why are you so sooo cute?" to which you reply "because you love me cute," in your no-big-deal matter of fact, I like to make you happy mom, sort of way. I do love you that way, the way you always are. Thanks for being so awesome.

Great Day
I had a great day with you boys yesterday. You played so great together and were soo happy and kind to each other all day. I even got extra cuddles and hugs. There were many adorable things all day that made me smile, but one of my favorite moments was while I was preparing supper, the two of you were playing with little nets...your play got a little out of hand and before any of us knew it, two little boys were hitting eachother with their nets and crying (probably one of the only times in the day). I sent the two of you for a time out because you both were being to rough...As you sat on your little stool together (both still in tears), I could see and hear Oscar patting Chaim's back and saying "Don't worry Chaim, Don't worry Chaim". Then Oscar stood up from the stool and with one finger pointing at me said in his angry voice "Mom, you are in trouble"...What did I do? Apparently I was the source of all the tears. I tried to explain to you guys that we can't hit and that is why we are having a time out...Oscar just sat down and rubbed Chaim's back and said "Don't worry Chaim". Needless to say the timeout didn't last long. There were hugs all around and I was happy to see how protective Oscar was of his brother (even if Chaim was crying because of Oscar in the first place).
Thanks for being such good boys and thanks for the great day. Love Mom.

Mistaken Identitites and Alter Egos
I sometimes try to get away with calling you two little boys "little rabbits". Oscar doesn't seem very pleased with this nickname or any other that I have come up with and will always correct me in his frustrated voice "No, I'm a boy". Then I will ask him what his name is and often he will say "Chaim". I Will try to correct him and say "No Oscar...Say O.s.c.a.r..."...Which he emphatically would always often yell back while hitting his chest "No Chaim". Though Oscar responds to his own name when spoken to, he seems to like to assume the identities of his superHeros. Chaim has held this spot for quite a long time. Now however it seems a new hero is in town... when I ask Oscar what his name is he will say "Spiderman". Right now he acts, lives, breaths, and has to wear spiderman all day long. I can barely do anything without Oscar catching me in one of his webs or shooting off a pretend web at any of us that step out of line. For Christmas we searched for new Spiderman Jammies as Oscars old hand me-down ones were getting a little small...Chaim got Iron man, which has been his favorite superhero of late, yet he seems to know that he actually isn't really Iron man.

I get a kick out of watching you guys play superheros. Thank you Chaim for being so willing to wear your "normal clothes" for school and church and during the day...In fact, first thing in the morning you are asking me for your "Day clothes". You also seem most comfortable being you. I will often try and play pretend with you and you will correct me..."i.e. I'm not a doctor, I am Chaim".
Your brother on the other hand, puts up a fight anytime he has to remove his superhero uniform...I often settle with putting his day clothes on over top of his jammies as a compromise for when we need to leave the house. That way he is always ready to assume his role as Spiderman. When it comes time to wash the jammies (once I finally get them off), I will have to quickly hide them or Oscar will put them back on...He knows to go through the laundry basket in the laundry room whenever they are missing. I usually have to wash them in stages...pants first, and then shirt so he can at least maintain a portion of his "uniform".
On the rare occasion that I actually do manage to get them off...He is never happy with any arrangement unless he is still able to hold them..."Mommy Hold...Please"...We have often traveled to church or to drop Chaim off at School with a special bag for Oscar to hold with his Jammies in it.
Honestly, for all the hassle, I wonder why we still even have them around sometimes...but it sure is cute.

(Ohh the injustice of it all)

(And pure delight when you have them in your hands).

(waiting for your pants to dry...You found my support stocking gloves and got a little creative with them).
Chaim, gravitates to things a little more cerebral. You are our own Jimmy Neutron lately...Your new obsession is Volcanoes. You ask to watch movies (youtube) on Volcanoes all the time...and are constantly explaining to me how they displode (explode) and asking if Volcanoes are distinct (extinct)...like Dinosaurs. You seem quite amazed that there are still volcanoes on the earth.
I am having fun keeping on my toes with your latest interests. Sure love you.
